Cardiovascular & Vascular Surgeon — Father of European Phlebology
Prof. Dr. René Milleret
Prof. Dr. René Milleret is widely recognised as the father of phlebology in Europe. He spent most of his career in Lyon, France, where he became a member of the most prestigious medical societies. He was the first surgeon in Europe to perform deep vein valvuloplasty. He invented a Doppler device for phlebology, cryoablation, and cryostripping techniques. He introduced the concept of VenoSteam — closing varicose veins using water vapour with a device he personally developed. He currently operates in Poland, Portugal, Israel, and Romania. At Sanconfind's Phlebology Centre, these revolutionary techniques have been performed since July 26, 2024.
